Artist of the Week - Amy Wei

17 March 2016

  • Amy Wei's artwork - Tristan

This week, the Art department’s ‘Artist of the Week’ goes to Amy Wei in Year 13. Amy has recreated a digital portrait of one of her close friends, Tristan Pinfold, which she will be exhibiting as part of her IB Visual Arts Exhibition. Amy’s intention was to explore how an artist can manipulate how a piece can be perceived: an ordinary person can be painted to appear powerful; a digital illustration can be digitally painted to look like a photo.

Amy spent many painstaking hours recreating this very clever and powerful piece, showing clear evidence of her artistic talent and dedication. Excellent work Amy, Tristan has never look so magnificent!

If you would like to see Amy’s work and the great work by the rest of our Year 13 students, please join us on Friday 18th March 5-7:30pm in the new Amphitheatre. We look forward to seeing you there.
