Artist of the Week

21 April 2016

  • Cheyenne Tan

For this edition’s ‘Artist of the Week’, the Art department is proud to present the work of Cheyenne Tan, 10C.

Cheyenne, along with the Year 10 Art GCSE students, has been studying portraiture. The students have been learning how to map out the human face, about proportion and how to  use specific tone and form shading techniques to create structure in the face.  For this part of their course, they have been focusing on creating an A3 graphite self-portrait.

Although all of our students have created a series of excellent pieces, Cheyenne’s self-portrait really exemplified the skill and talent that our students have. Cheyenne has created an incredibly sensitive and beautiful study, that goes well beyond any expectation of a Year 10 student.

Well done Cheyenne, you are a true inspiration!
