On 21st and 22nd March, the British Schools of Beijing had two days of musical enjoyment as we launched our partnership with the Juilliard School.

On the 21st March, there was a press event where our Y8 quartet performed “March Militaire” by Schubert. Andrea Lee, the Juilliard Music Curriculum Specialist and our special guest, also was able to attend some Music lessons, worked with the Y4 cellists, and joined in with some of the work going on in here at BSB in the Music Department.

On the 22nd March, BSB Shunyi hosted “An Evening of Music with Juilliard” which featured performances by the BSB Sanlitun Choir, BSB Shunyi  pianist Marcell Vajda, and the BSB Shunyi cast of “Return to the Forbidden Planet”. Our Juilliard guests Andrea Lee and Lu Wang performed two beautiful cello and piano duets as well. Every performer and audience member thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Please see the pictures from our two Juilliard launch days.
