An early start but a hearty breakfast for all.  A little light rain too but nothing to dispel the excitement of our bike ride through the Nanxi Valley.  Everyone had a safety briefing before being allocated their ‘steed’ for the day, and then we were off, heading through the spectacular traditional round buildings of Zhengcheng Tulou, Zhenfu Tulou and finally Yanxianglou.

After lunch, we worked in groups inside one of the fabulous earth buildings and attempted to create our own version of the building using only the materials they used to build the structures – clay and wood.  A bit messy, but great fun.  We then had the opportunity to sketch the buildings during the art workshop.  Another excellent day!
