Day 2: Student Reflection by Scarlett and Nisa
After breakfast we took off to the countryside where we got to do tea picking. We learnt what leaves to look for to make the best tea and we learned how to traditionally make the tea with traditional tea sets. Personally we feel it was a very relaxing experience especially after the traveling we did the day before.
We then went off to a traditional Tulou which we will be staying in for 2 nights. We both find the area we are staying in very pretty due to the natural surroundings. Then we went to dinner which tasted great and later on we did a Q&A with the host, Steve, and he told us about the past of the Tulous we are staying in which are about 150 years old and have held through 6 generations of Steve’s family. We then had a bit of free time with our friends, showered and then went to bed.
