Today we woke up at 7:15 and went to have breakfast. We were split into three groups, 2 cycle challenge groups and one hiking/exploration group.

Reflection 1 written by Chris and Charles:

We went for a bicycle tutorial after breakfast. Most of us chose to do the more advance route and the rest of the group members went to the normal route. We had some difficulties during the ride, including a few falls - but everyone continued the ride !! The ride was really fun when we had down hill “sprinting”. But the best part was when we were watching other people trying their best to get up the tough hills.

Even though it was hard we didn’t gave up and we could finish the ride. We had a lot of fun. After that we came back to our hotel and ate the dinner. The dinner tasted nice because we used all the energy for bicycle.

Reflection 2 written by Conlan and Bennit:

Today, on the second day of our residential, we first did an activity where we had to find out more information about the Tulou cluster we are staying in by asking locals question and their culture and history. After, we got on the bus and went to another Tulou cluster called the Chu Xi cluster. Shortly after we had lunch and then embarked on our hike around the cluster. After we got back to our start point, we hiked to the lookout building and got a fantastic view of the Chu Xi cluster.

We got asked “What would help tourists understand the culture and history of the Tulous?” we answered this question and presented our ideas to the group we got back on the bus and went back to Hong Kang cluster were we are staying. When we got back we had dinner and now we are ready for sleep in preparation for tomorrow !

Tomorrow the groups will rotate from the activities today. Everyone is having a super time!
