It has been a very active few weeks in Year 5 recently where the children have been involved in a range of activities from drama to sports to food tasting!

The Year 5 house sports competition took place on Friday the 1st of March and there was an outstanding atmosphere pool side. Mr Thorp went so far as to say it was the best atmosphere he had heard at all of the house competitions! All the children showed great enthusiasm when competing in a range of different races from individual to relay and they can all be very proud of their achievements. Well done to the Romans who took first place on the day!

On Wednesday the 27th of February the Parents’ Association organised a fantastic food showcase for the children to start our ‘Cool Cooking’ topic. The children really enjoyed observing how a variety of food from around the world was made. They also thoroughly enjoyed tasting all the food and we look forward to applying this knowledge to their learning in class over the coming weeks! Thank you very much again to the PA!

Finally, Year 5 can be very proud of themselves for an amazing performance of Space Pirates on Friday the 22nd of February. All the children showed great courage and tenacity to deliver an outstanding performance to their parents and peers. Well done!
