It’s wonderful to see the Nursery children grow in confidence as they form new friendships and discover new things together. We had a dinosaur cave in our classroom, an autumn sensory tray and lots and lots of playdough. We started our formal Phonics program and we are all becoming aware of sounds around us and learning to listen out for initial sounds.
This week has been a special week as we talk about Halloween and continue to explore the changes that happen all around us in autumn. We looked inside pumpkins and smelled, touched and tasted them. The children had a great time touching the different parts of the pumpkin and describing them: soft, squishy, hard, crunchy and some of them told us how the seeds will grow into new pumpkins.
