Squad sizes for all Games events are limited to 36. Primary squads’ age- group teams (U11, U10 and U9) are made up of 6 boys and 6 girls each.
Selected students are responsible for their own participation fee and associated travel costs. The participation fee covers costs for venues, officials, medals and trophies, meals, snacks and drinks during the Games. Parents that wish to travel to support their child(ren) are responsible for their own costs, but help in coordinating this will be done through the sport office.
Attendance at individual Games may involve overseas travel. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their child(ren)’s passport is up to date and satisfies the visa requirements for visits to host countries. Travel bookings for squads will be made by the Sports Department using the most cost effective means of transportation.
The first date for Fobisia try-out/practice is Monday March 16th (for Y6 – U11, Y5 – U10 and Y4 – U9), this is a two week try-out period and we advise you to attend as much as possible. We are however, aware that some students are travelling for the Music Fobisia during some of this period. From Monday March 23rd we invite our Y3 students to attend try-outs. An exceptional Y3 has the potential to compete with the U9 team.
Students will be required to attend all 4 practices because each day covers one of the 4 sports they will be competing in. All students compete in all 4 sports. We will be running 2 weeks of try-outs (Y4-6) and 1 week of try-outs for Yr3 - leading up to the Easter holiday and will make an announcement of who is in the team either just before or during the holiday. You will be notified if your child was successful in try-outs and needs to attend practice.
Fobisia squad practice starts officially Monday 6th April after the try-out period.
Try-Out and Practice Schedule
The try-out and practice times and days are the same, as shown below:
Fobisia Sports bus 5pm
ASA bus 4.45pm
ASA bus 4.45pm
Fobisia Sports bus 5pm
When there are no ASA buses running, due to the end of an ASA season, we will run a 5pm Fobisia bus on that day. We will be running a Fobisia sports bus home every Monday and Friday. The stops will be Shunyi compounds followed by downtown on the Fobisia sports bus. The ASA buses will do their usual stops. Otherwise pick up by a parent at BSB.
The approximate cost for the trip will be 7500 RMB (this is based on the amount of the U13/15 trips). We are hoping to reduce some costs by getting sponsorship again this year from a company who can contribute costs towards the sports kit students will be competing in. If you know of a company who would be willing to sponsor the Primary Fobisia team, please do put them in contact with Travis – email@example.com">firstname.lastname@example.org, and/or myself – email@example.com">firstname.lastname@example.org
