Saraine Chan

University of Edinburgh

Congratulations to BSB 2021 graduate Saraine who has been accepted by the University of Edinburgh to study Art. She achieved a near perfect score of 44 out of 45 for her IB Diploma.

Cathy joined BSB in 2010 and she also got an amazing 7A* and 4A for her IGCSE examinations in 2019. Saraine reflected on the support that she received from BSB over the past 11 years.

1.Please describe any charity work that you have participated in?

I helped organise the bake sales and the money raised was then donated to UNICEF to help children in Lebanon. This experience taught me a lot about how to organise and plan events, how to work collaboratively according to our personal strengths.

2.Please describe some of your best memories of your time at BSB.

For our Year 12 Trip to Tanzania, we helped the local community and learnt a lot of about the culture.

I also helped organised the Santa's Grotto in 2018, Primary Halloween event in 2019 and was a member of the BSB Eco-Committee.

3.Who is your favourite teacher and why?

Ms Bramley because she's awesome!

4.How has studying at BSB helped you achieve academic success/ university acceptance/ personal development?

BSB taught me how to plan my time wisely

5.What do you think is special about BSB?

The people and the environment

6.What advice do you have for other students at school?
