SungMin is very excited that she will be studying at HKU and reflected on the support that she has received from BSB over the past 5 years.
1. How has studying at BSB helped you achieve academic success/ university acceptance/ personal development?
BSB has supported me to achieve academic success and created a competitive university application with its academically challenging curricula, interactive lessons and professional teachers.
In terms of personal development, I have developed a global mindset. BSB offered students school activities beyond a typical classroom setting and this boosted my communication skills and enriched our opportunities for interacting with individuals from different backgrounds.
2. What do you think is special about BSB?
BSB provides a multicultural, supportive and positive learning environment.
3. Please describe 2 of your best memories of your time at BSB.
One of my best memories at BSB would be our Year 12 Tanzania residential trip in 2019.
We completed a service project for the local community in conjunction with NGO. I was deeply impressed by a wild landscape in the safari. I saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, warthogs, a bat and lots of bugs. Along with the amazingly beautiful Safari’s night sky, I had unforgettable experiences there.
I would also not forget a DEA International Bronze Awards practice journey. It was a 1 night hike and camp with my classmate. We were physically exhausted but had so much fun.
4. Please describe any charity work that you have participated?
I organized a bake sale project with 20 fellow students to raise money for charity. We raised 4700 RMB in 4 weeks and donated 4000 RMB to UNICEF’s one-time support programme.
5. What advice do you have for other students at school?
Time management is the key to ace IB. The longer you procrastinate, the more stressful and demotivated you will be to complete the task. I would suggest you find ways to minimise procrastination and increase productivity to deal with an overwhelming workload.
