Veronika had a clear goal and nothing was going to stand in her way. She approached each course with a similar attitude, specifically as a student of Higher Level Biology where there is a high demand to acquire and assimilate new information, Veronika takes all of this in her stride. She is a conscientious and dedicated young learner who always does her best to make sure she has understood key new concepts and course material. This attitude has led to her success in reaching her desired goal of attending Krems for such a specific course.
At Krems she will study a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. The Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Bachelor Degree is taught in English and comprises theoretical courses and extensive laboratory practicals that cover the fundamentals of natural sciences, biomedicine and the applicable technologies.
It is split into four subject areas:
- Medical biotechnology in which she will gain insights into human medicine and pharmaceutical science in order to acquire an understanding of the effects of medicines and their production.
- Pharmaceutical biotechnology an important part of the degree: courses on the theoretical principles and practical implementation of processes used in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Quality management is imperative in the medical and pharmaceutical industry as mistakes can cost lives, so a thorough knowledge of quality management is essential.
- Fundamentals of business in which she will also focus on communication and human resources in preparation for working in an interdisciplinary environment. Her training also includes practical work as part of research and industry projects.
Veronika’s skills that were learned and honed here at BSB will serve her well during her years at KREMS in such a challenging and cutting edge field. We are proud to call her a BSB alumnus.
