I am delighted to be joining The Nord Anglia family of schools as Principal of The British School of Beijing, Shunyi in May 2017, working side by side with the current Principal, Andy Puttock for a period of 2 months handover before taking up the reins myself in the summer.
I love, and highly value working with parents and families to ensure that the very highest academic standards are achieved in the context of developing the whole child. I am also particularly passionate about harnessing the power of the Nord Anglia family of schools and the ‘Be Ambitious’ philosophy to ensure that every child and young person can be the very best they can be and, through the highest quality education, turning their dreams and ambitions into reality.
Having over two decades experience as a Headteacher, Executive Headteacher and most recently as Chief Executive Officer of a federation of schools in London, I have gained a wealth of understanding in leading the highest calibre of schools. This experience has been gained across all phases of education and provision in schools delivering high quality education to the full age range of 2 to 25 years old.
Furthermore, I was appointed one of the first National Leaders of Education in the UK and have served on the boards of the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) and the National College for School Leadership (NCSL). Above all, though, my passion is working with parents and teachers to see your child succeed.
I am married to Sian who is currently an Executive Principal of two high performing schools and member of the Governing Board of the IB Organization. Our daughter, Annalise, is currently studying Biology at Sheffield University.
