After growing up in the Philippines, I returned to the U.S. for college and earned a B.A. in Cultural Studies with a minor in English. For four years, I worked for City Year Chicago, a non-profit organization that provides educational support and opportunities for children and young people.
For the past 15 years, I’ve been working in the EAL field. I taught English in South Korea for two years before getting my CELTA and moving to Taiwan. There, I worked as a writer and editor of EAL curriculum. Later, I went back to the classroom, teaching English to children of all ages as well as adults. In 2015, I completed my Masters of Education (Post-Secondary Education). My husband and I taught in the Middle East (Kuwait and the UAE) for three years. We are happy to take the opportunity to move back to Asia and work for BSB.
My husband is teaching Year 2 here at BSB. We met in Taiwan and had our wedding in Vietnam in 2012. We don’t have any children, but we did adopt a cat when we were in Abu Dhabi last year. We brought our little Arabian mau, Pixie, with us to Beijing and she seems to like it so far!
