Mari Wabeke (2)

Year 4 Teacher

I was born in Pretoria, South Africa.  I’m a fully qualified teacher with 13 years teaching experience.  I received my Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Pretoria and my Honours degree from the University of South Africa specialising in Educational Management.  We moved to Shunyi, Beijing in 2016.  Prior to joining BSB I worked at another international school in Beijing where I was a Grade 3 Homeroom teacher.  In my home country I was Head of the Department for Natural Science.

I am a positive person who commands mutual respect, conscientiousness and punctuality. I encourage learners to develop their talents and skills to the maximum of their ability to equip them for their future in a global society.  I am constantly broadening my teaching experience to further my career.  Education is one of my passions in life and I strive to stimulate the interest of the children and their inquisitive minds.

In my free time I like to do mosaic craft work and spend time with my husband and our baby.  We love to explore new places in China and go for walks in all the beautiful gardens in Beijing.  I’m looking forward making new memories with my Year 4 class of 2018-2019.
