In 2011, I graduated from the University of Greenwich with a Bachelor of Arts Drama degree. After graduating I volunteered in various schools for 18 months which is where I was inspired to work with children on a permanent basis. Following my passion, I became a Teaching Assistant and then went on to gain my Teachers Qualified Status in 2014, specialising in Mathematics.
I have taught Key Stage one (KS1) and lower Key Stage two (KS2) in a London primary school. I also ran Drama afterschool clubs and was an instrumental part of the Maths Co-ordination team which reshaped the structure of teaching mathematics for young children in KS1.
I joined The British School of Beijing in 2016 as a Year 2 teacher and the Maths Co-ordinator for Primary school. I have really enjoyed all of my experiences so far, and look forward to those still to come.
I am keen to share my learning experiences with children across the world, particularly how fun and innovative you can become when leaning about numbers, which is why I have chosen to become part of the BSB family.
It has always been an ambition of mine to travel the world. As I have always loved working with children, I have found teaching is an excellent platform for sharing and gaining new experiences. I am also very passionate about values such as confidence, self-motivation and the promotion of using a growth mind-set.
