I joined the British School of Beijing in 2007. Besides teaching History and Geography, I am also the Exams officer, the International Award / Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator and an IB CAS supervisor. My degree is in History and Politics from Sheffield University and I did my PGCE at Liverpool University. BSB is my 4th international school. Before coming to China I have taught History in schools in the UK, Kenya, Singapore, Oman and the USA. The English National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and Diploma are the areas of experience that I have acquired..
I am passionate about providing students with an excellent all-round education and have been involved in several extra-curricular activities from the Model United Nations, the International Award scheme to the World Scholar’s Cup.
My hobbies include hiking, travelling, running and attending book reviews at the Book Worm in Beijing. During holidays I can usually be found travelling throughout Britain, Singapore and China. My wife Michelle (from Singapore) works as a teaching assistant in the BSB Primary School and we have two children, George and Jasmine, who are both in the BSB school.
I welcome any initiative, such as the Be Ambitious philosophy, that helps the students in their learning to achieve success and their full potential.
