In 2000, I graduated with a Master's degree in Engineering in France and received my Qualified Teacher Status at the University of Sunderland. In 2001, my love for the English language and my thirst for new adventures led me to the US where as a Naturalist for a National Park, I had my first encounter with Education. I met my future husband that same year and moved to South Africa. When the chance to become a Mathematics teacher arose there, I jumped at the chance and never looked back.
In 2010, we decided to expand our horizons and moved to the Provence, France, where I gained valuable experience in two international bilingual IB schools. I believe that new challenges are essential to grow and develop as a person. Hence, during my 13 years of teaching, I have also taught Science and Computer Application Technology.
After having lived Southern Africa and Europe, we recently decided as a family that it was time to discover another continent. Thus in 2018 when the opportunity to join BSB and explore Asia was presented to me, it was too good to be missed.
As an educator, my goal is to guide students towards independence, so that they take ownership of their learning and become lifelong learners. Positive pedagogy guides my teaching on a daily basis, as self-confidence is one of the key component of success. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking and cycling with my husband and two daughters. I also regularly take part in yoga classes.
