Mathematics and Economics Teacher

Until moving to Beijing, I lived and worked in my home city of Cape Town, South Africa. I graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance and Accounting before completing a PGCE in Secondary Education, also from the University of Cape Town. Since then, I’ve spent several years teaching IB and Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics, Economics, Business Management and Accounting in South African private and international schools, including at one of the only two IB schools in South Africa, where I also held the position of Timetable Coordinator. These different experiences have helped me to shape and align my teaching practices with my teaching philosophy.

After gaining experience in an international school setting, my wife and I decided that it was time to broaden our horizons and continue our teaching journey on the other side of the world. I was immediately drawn to BSB Shunyi’s “Be Ambitious” philosophy, as it aligns closely with my personal and teaching beliefs.

I embrace every opportunity to develop myself, learn new skills and experience life to the fullest. I am excited to start the next stage of my career and life in Beijing and to make a contribution to the development of BSB Shunyi and its students. I look forward to spending my free time immersing myself in a new culture, trying different cuisines and experiencing the sights and communities of Beijing and the rest of Asia with my wife in the years to come.
