After graduating with a degree in Mathematics and Physics from Edinburgh University, I studied for a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics at The University of Cambridge. For the last four years I have been undertaking a PhD in black hole physics at Liverpool University and have just submitted my thesis and this has been approved and passed for my doctorate.
During 2011/2012 I spent a very enjoyable year teaching Mathematics at Harrow International School Beijing where I gained experience at all stages of secondary education including preparing senior pupils for iGCSE and A-Level examinations. I am very much looking forward to returning to Beijing and joining the Mathematics Department at BSB.
I come from a small town in Scotland between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit with a number of sports. I have previously competed in swimming at national level but also enjoy badminton, tennis and skiing. I enjoy getting involved with sport at BSB and also taking advantage of the great travel opportunities that are available.
