    Adam Worsley

I graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2000, with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science. I qualified as a teacher of Physical Education at the University of Otago, College of Education, New Zealand in 2001 and I completed a Masters in Education through the Open University in 2014. I joined the British School of Beijing in 2012 after teaching for 10 years in the UK, I was the Head of Secondary PE for 4 years and I am now the Director of Sport and PE. I have taught PE at Key Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as GCSE PE and IB Sport, Exercise and Health Science.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and aim to give students the opportunity to learn and improve their knowledge, skills and understanding of physical education. I am passionate about keeping students active and providing the foundations for lifelong participation in physical activity, as well as giving students the opportunity to compete and represent BSB.

    Head of Secondary PE

    Kieran Walsh

Having completed a B.A. (Hons) degree in Physical Education, Sport and Dance with QTS at Liverpool John Moore’s Univeristy I spent the following five  years working within an outstanding school in the North West of England teaching PE to GCSE level and as a Head of Year.  2010 saw me move to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudia Arabia as a PE Teacher and in a premium British International School.  Whilst at the school, I taught across the key stages (EYFS – KS5) and swiftly became a Head of Year once again overseeing student’s ‘options’ and welfare.

After eight years in KSA and having gained increased knowledge of the international education system, I find myself in China excited to be joining the British School Beijing as a PE Teacher and Head of Department.  The opportunity to join BSB and develop my own knowledge and skills was simply too difficult to ignore. I believe passionately about education and the development of young people. Every child is important and every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential and within a positive learning environment, such as BSB, these opportunities are simply enhanced.

After initially working with sports at competitive international levels, I have decided to pursue my true passion – to be involved in a more holistic education through teaching Physical and Health Education. I have now worked in over 10 schools across South America, Europe and now China, and have dedicated the last 15 years to teaching. I believe skills learnt in PE are transferrable to other subject areas and are vital for academic success.

Coming to BSB and becoming part of the Nord Anglia Education Group is the pinnacle of many years of dedication. I am confident that the prestige and career opportunities present in the group will allow me to develop further as an educator and pursue further research and grow academically.

I attended the University of Stirling and graduated in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Sports Studies, Physical Education and Professional Education. Through this course I also became registed as a qualified teacher and I immediately started my education career. For the past 3 years I have been teaching middle and high school students in Beijing. Whilst in this school I learnt about a number of different international curriculums and developed strategies to support EAL students. Teaching in an international setting has been an incredible experience and I’m looking forward to challenging myself further at BSB.
