During today’s English lesson, students delivered TED talks (Technology, Education and Design Talks) to their peers about a topic of their choice. The topics discussed included ‘the popularity and decline of dystopian and utopian novels, and how their role in society altered as a direct result of governmental opinion’. Also, two students delivered talks on ‘body image: the trials and tribulations of a teenager today.’
The intention is that every student from Mr David Cairns’ EN10A class will deliver a TED Talk to their peers; with four students being nominated to deliver their discussions to the entire KS4 cohort after the winter break. The talks will also be recorded and submitted to the TED Talks YouTube page, as well as being added to the Global Classroom for the enjoyment of each of Nord Anglia’s 31 schools; therefore reaching out to over 20,000 students worldwide.
