Athletics: To develop skills for running, throwing and jumping.
Aquatics:
- Year 7 Swimming: To continue to develop stroke techniques, diving and water skills.
- Year 8 Personal Survival skills / Lifesaving skills: To learn a range of land-based rescuing skills including; reaching with a pole or similar, rope rescue over 10m and ‘landing’ the casualty. Additionally, students also learn several water-based rescuing skills. These include several towing methods and deep-water rescue.
- Year 9 Water Polo: Students are introduced to and can develop their water polo skills including passing, shooting and dribbling, marking and getting free.
Badminton: To develop the fundamental skills of badminton, including the serve, overhead clear, smash and drop shot
Basketball: To develop dribbling, passing and shooting skills, implementing tactics to outwit opponents.
Football: To develop and refine the fundamental skills of football through a variety of individual, pair and group practises as well as a range of game scenarios.
Netball: To develop the basic principles of attack and defence to plan strategy and tactics for netball using skills, strategies and tactics to outwit the opposition.
Rugby: To pass, run and carry the ball and tackle effectively, performing these skills and techniques within isolated and game situations.
Softball: To develop fundamental skills including, pitching, batting, throwing and catching through isolated skill practices and game situations.
Volleyball: To develop the fundamental skills of volleyball and have the opportunity to begin to use tactics and apply skills to a range of game scenarios.
At the end of each unit of study students participate in a House event.
