Having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies at University College London Institute of Education (UCL IOE), I have consistently strived to broaden my expertise and knowledge in the field of teaching. I have gained invaluable experiences in teaching and learning whilst completing the PGCE Primary (with QTS) at UCL IOE and TESOL (CELTA) at St. Giles in the UK.
Since then, I have worked in South West London as a Primary school teacher in both KS1 and KS2. It is my utmost belief that in every classroom, the foundations of learning are constructed interactively between the teacher and pupils. I believe that the child should always be put first in whatever a teacher does.
Growing up in Korea and living in the UK has enabled me to appreciate the very different yet interconnectedness of both cultures. Though it will be my first time in China, I am very excited to find out where this journey will take me. I feel truly privileged to join the reputable school and to continue my professional development alongside talented teachers at BSB Shunyi.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing badminton, reading or watching movies. I have a black belt in Martial Arts (Tae Kwon Do) and look forward to challenging myself to learn Kung Fu! I also have a passion for drawing and painting and hope to learn how to paint traditional Chinese paintings. I am sure there will be ample opportunites to try out new sports and activities in Beijing, and of course to master Mandarin too!
