I am very excited to start as an Art Teacher and Year 7 Tutor at the British School of Beijing as of August 2018. Previously, I have taught in Beijing for a year and have also have taught in London as an Art Teacher for four years. Prior to that I was a freelance illustrator and graphic designer working within the fashion industry; my artwork has been published in the U.K. and overseas.
During my five years of teaching I have led staff training on a variety of topics, from creativity in the classroom as well as integrating technology and effective visuals into teaching. I have also taught a wide range of artistic mediums, including digital and installation art.
I am looking forward to starting as an Art teacher at BSB and facilitating the creativity, cultural awareness and ambitions of our students.
I’m naturally passionate about the arts and of course love to visit galleries and exhibitions in my free time as well as practice my own artwork and illustration. I enjoy photography and screen printing in particular as well as creating mural artwork.
I also love sports and while I enjoyed horse-riding and basketball as a child, I have taken up roller derby (a contact sports on roller skates) and rugby as well as running and weight lifting as an adult. The fantastic feeling of achieving something both as a team or as an individual in a sport is something I enjoy immensely and I feel adds to my skills as a teacher.
