Having completed a B.A. (Hons) degree in Physical Education, Sport and Dance with QTS at Liverpool John Moore’s Univeristy I spent the following five years working within an outstanding school in the North West of England teaching PE to GCSE level and as a Head of Year. 2010 saw me move to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudia Arabia as a PE Teacher and in a premium British International School. Whilst at the school, I taught across the key stages (EYFS – KS5) and swiftly became a Head of Year once again overseeing student’s ‘options’ and welfare.
After eight years in KSA and having gained increased knowledge of the international education system, I find myself in China excited to be joining the British School of Beijing in 2018 as a PE Teacher and Head of Department. The opportunity to join BSB and develop my own knowledge and skills was simply too difficult to ignore. I believe passionately about education and the development of young people. Every child is important and every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential and within a positive learning environment, such as BSB, these opportunities are simply enhanced.
I was born and raised in Bolton, Lancashire but moved to Liverpool to study and see what all the fuss was about a ‘small’ band called the Beatles. I am an avid Bolton Wanderers supporter, my passion for sport in general is unwavering. Having represented at semi-professional level it is now time for me to attempt to pass on my skills and knowledge to the upcoming sports stars of the future and allow them to experience sport in a fun, exciting and rewarding environment.
