Starting off with Maths lessons, the children practiced using their number knowledge of place value to partition numbers into hundreds, tens and units. Some of them enjoyed it so much they asked to take home number cards to keep learning.
In English lessons we looked at the traditional tales of ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’, then we acted out the stories in groups and worked in groups to retell the stories with pictures and writing.
During art lessons, the children looked at some famous art works of Picasso, Van Gogh, Kandinsky and Pollack to inspire them to create their own images based on the originals. We have also begun learning about Australian aboriginal dot painting as part of an exciting art project.
The construction class were challenged to construct KNEX equipment following complex instructions. They were excellent at learning and communicating together.
