Why is it important for the NAIS Manila community to celebrate Philippine Day?
“At NAIS Manila, celebrating Philippine Day is an important way of living out our vision of fostering global, inclusive citizens. By honouring the rich culture, history, and traditions of the Philippines, we not only deepen our appreciation for the country our families call home, but also teach our students the value of respect, diversity, and connection. This celebration helps our community to come together, learn from one another, and strengthen the global mindset that lies at the heart of a Nord Anglia education.”

A Vibrant Start to Philippine Day
Philippine Day kicked off in the Astro Field with a lively marching band performance that filled the campus with energy and excitement. The National Anthem and opening remarks followed, creating both a respectful and celebratory atmosphere.
The Philippine Barangay Folk Dance Troupe then took the stage with captivating performances of Tinikling, PandanggosaIlaw, and Subli — each one showcasing the rhythm, grace, and beauty of Filipino tradition.
Culture Comes to Life in Every Classroom
Filipino culture took center stage across every classroom — in ways that were fun, creative, and deeply meaningful.
In EYFS and Primary, students explored heritage through storytelling, traditional games, Masskara mask-making, and dancing.
In Secondary, the celebration deepened with Tagisan ng Talino (Quiz Bee), Filipino-themed lessons, and engaging sessions on local folktales.
Each activity sparked curiosity, nurtured pride, and made learning joyful. Philippine Day wasn’t just a celebration — it was a powerful reminder that culture connects us, inspires us, and strengthens our community. This day exemplifies how we integrate cultural learning into our curriculum to build confident, compassionate students who understand and value the world they live in — with lessons that resonate far beyond the classroom.
