Dear All BSB Sport Followers,

The 2016 ACAMIS Gold Division Volleyball Championships were recently hosted at BSB Shunyi from November 3rd to 5th. ACAMIS stands for the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools. Gold Division member schools in addition to BSB include: Dalian American International School (DAIS), Hong Kong Academy (HKA), Hangzhou International School (HIS), Shenzhen International School Nanshan (ISNS), & The International School of Macao (TIS). A little history, this is the 7th year we have been in the Gold Division for ACAMIS, hosting now Volleyball for a second time over these 7 years. Teams participate in a Round Robin format playing each school first, which determines a schools ranking for Play-offs. Then within the Play-offs, Rank 1 plays Rank 4, and Rank 2 plays Rank 3, which are the designated Semi-Final, winners play for the Championship, & 3rd / 4th Place for the losing teams.

After Round Robin play, BSB on the boys was Ranked 1st overall going undefeated in Round Robin Play, and the girls were Ranked 4th overall.   The boys continued their undefeated streak, beating TIS in the semi-final, before having little trouble with HKA in the final. Boys throughout the tournament only lost 2 sets in total overall. An incredible achievement! The Girls lost to HKA in the semi-final but were able to finish strong against HIS to capture 3rd Place overall.
