Artist of the Week

  • Artist of the week - Lucy Puttock

It is with great pleasure that the Art department have selected Lucy Puttock, 11D, as ‘Artist of the Week’.

As part of their Art GCSE coursework, the students did a project based on portraiture. The students had to develop a personal portrait piece based on the style and techniques of a chosen artist.

Lucy selected the artist Danny O’Connor as her inspirational artist. The piece that we have selected is a beautiful watercolour study that Lucy created, taken from her favourite piece by O’Connor titled ‘Half Portrait’. Lucy thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece and the project, working both in class and her free time in school. Her understanding of the artist’s style and use of colour are perfectly understood and celebrated in this exceptional study.

Well done Lucy!
