Sport Update

Dear All BSB Sport Followers,

I hope the winter break was an enjoyable and relaxing one with just 3 weeks before we break up again to celebrate Chinese New Year. We have an incredibly busy 2 weeks ahead, with all 6 U14 Volleyball teams participating in their Season ending ISAC Volleyball Tournaments on Saturday 14th January. The tournament locations are U14 boys @BCIS, U14 girls @DSP, U13 boys @ISB, U13 girls @ISB, U12 boys @BSB, & U12 girls @BSB. Our U19 boys and girls are both also playing in their ISAC season ending tournaments on Saturday, U19 D2 boys @DCB and U19 D1 girls @WAB. U19 basketball will conclude Season 2 play, with their Annual ACAMIS Gold Division Tournament, which is hosted at The Macao International School (TIS) from Thursday 19th January returning Sunday 22nd January. And the highlight, again for Season 2, is our 4th Annual U11/U10/U9/U8 BSB Handball Invite, which will take place on Wednesday 18th January for girls and Thursday 19th January for boys both at BSB. Following this week, all Season 2 sports will formally finish for the academic year.

All Season 3 sports will formally begin the week of 6th February 2017.  We will be holding try-outs/sign-ups for all core sports as follows: Monday 23rd January U14/U13/U12 basketball, Wednesday 25th January for U19/U16 football, and Tuesday 14th February, T-ball for U11/U10/U9/U8 will begin (students should have signed up in advance of this date). Swimming (Aquabears) schedule remains the same as the previous 2 seasons.

It also gives me great pleasure to announce our U13 B Red FOBISIA Squad for 2017. Squad attached. The annual U13 FOBISIA games will be hosted at BSB from March 22nd to 24th 2017. And also the same week March 24th & 25th we will be sending BSB swimmers again to the annual ACAMIS Swimming Meet, which also again is being dually hosted by Dulwich College Suzhou, and Suzhou Singapore International School. We hope to take our biggest squad to date this year. Moreover, stay tuned for announcements & information on the 2017 Primary FOBISIA Games in Phuket as well as the Mini-FOBISIA games being hosted here in Beijing.

Also don’t forget, all sport related communications, schedules, updates, changes, cancellation information due to AQI and basically everything for sport can be accessed at

Wishing everyone a happy Chinese New Year, and by all means feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions about BSB sports.
