Red Ribbon Week - October 21-25

19 October 2019

The goal of Red Ribbon Week is to empower our students to make healthy choices at school and in their lives. During Character Education classes over the next few months, students will learn about: traits of a Good Citizen (PK and K), Water Safety (1st Grade), Stranger Safety (2nd Grade), Safety on the Internet (3rd Grade), Dangers of Smoking (4th Grade) and Good Digital Citizenship (5th Grade). This year’s Red Ribbon theme is Paws-itive Choice, in honor of Augy, our reading support dog from the Wags and Tales program sponsored by The Humane Society of Broward County.

Students and classes will put their best PAW forward by making good choices and celebrating National Red Ribbon Week with following activities:

Monday, October 21
Wear RED and pledge to make good choices. Students can wear any red top with uniform bottom.

Tuesday, October 22
Put on a cap for kindness. Wear your favorite cap and do something kind for someone else.

Wednesday, October 23
In celebration of our reading support dog Augy, bring in a donation for the Humane Society of Broward County. You can view their wishlist here.

Thursday, October 24
Sock it to bad choices. Wear your craziest socks!

Friday, October 25
Last day to bring in donation items for the Humane Society of Broward County.

Please contact Mrs. Damson, with any questions about Red Ribbon Week.
