In 2012 I decided to take the leap into international education after teaching for three years in the UK. I moved out to Guangzhou, fell in love with the city and have lived here happily ever since. Having coordinated the Key Stage One EAL team, I am now proud to be leading EAL provision across the Primary and Early Years phases at the British School of Guangzhou.
I am passionate about supporting young learners develop English as an additional language. As such, I am currently conducting a small-scale research project with King’s College London which looks at how international schools can better support second language acquisition. This research is part of an MA in International Education, backed by Nord Anglia University.
Outside of teaching I have a passion for music. I love to spend my spare time conducting and singing in a local choir. I also try to get out into nature as much as possible. Lucky for me, China has many beautiful places to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
