Parent Update - 10 April 2015

  • Swimming Pool

Dear Parents,

We’re very much looking forward to seeing all our pupils back in school on Monday, as well as welcoming 12 new students. We know you’ll all join us in making our new families welcome.

A FEW REMINDERS FOR TERM 3:

I’m attaching our ‘Important Dates for Term 3’ again, but please keep checking your Year blogs and our website and Facebook for new events. We also have an Instragam account now (NAIShongkong) for parents that are less keen on Facebook.

ECAs: ECAs don’t start again until Monday 27 April. We’ll be updating you all next week on our online sign-up (thank you all for using this system so successfully) and the Late Bus schedules.

UNIFORM: You can now order uniform items directly from Aston Wilson and choose to pick them up at school. Please click here for the updated order form.

A QUICK CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

This week the hoardings came down around the swimming pool. While we can’t use it yet, it was so exciting to finally be able to see into the pool area, and to get back some of the covered space next to the windows (always useful as we approach the more hot and rainy time of the year). The basketball area at the end of the school is also now clear of all construction materials, and the sports surface will be going down soon.

Upstairs, our Library is finally open! Our new librarian started this week and can’t wait to get all of our children in and enjoying this amazing reading and learning area. We also now have a fabulous “black box” specialist drama room, with dance mirrors and bar. Finally, our music practice rooms are now ready, so we’ll be sending out more information soon about additional music lessons.

We’ve posted a few photos on our website and Instagram accounts: NAIShongkong – but you must pop in soon and have a look around. It is lovely to see all the areas of our school coming to life.

March-to-Athens: Thank you all for getting involved in supporting our sports teams and in promoting a healthy lifestyle to all our children. We had some incredible individual family efforts (well done to the Skovgaards for notching up 662km!) and collective class achievements. 10 classes notched up between 400 and 900+ kilometres. Please remember to send in your sponsorship money next week (cash or cheque – payable to Nord Anglia International School, HK Ltd). We’ll be putting these funds towards new NAIS Knights sports clothing for our teams (both COBIS and here in Hong Kong).

Finally, thank you to all the parents that shared their photos of International Day with us. We had so many that we’ve uploaded them to Flickr (the fastest way to share large numbers of photos). Click here to view. What an amazing day it was.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Have a lovely last weekend!
