Village Student Receives Superior Rating in TPSMEA All-State Solo Competition

  • tpsmea

The Village School would like to congratulate Viking Ritika S. for her TPSMEA All-State Solo success this weekend! The Texas Private School Music Educators Association holds its Solo & Ensemble contests each year in the Spring.  Students select solos from the University Interscholastic League Prescribed Music List and perform their selection for professional adjudicators brought in especially for the contest.

Ritika S. sang "Se tu m'ami, se sospiri" by Pergolesi in both Regional and State contests.  A student who receives a 1-Superior rating on a UIL Class 1 solo is eligible to compete again in the State round of contest.  Ritika received 1-Superior ratings in both rounds, earning her the title of TPSMEA All-State Superior Solo singer.  This is a very high honor for this Village High School sophomore, who is the first female singer in Village school history to become a member of the TPSMEA All-State Choir.
