Highlights from our primary newsletter

Head of Primary Update

This January, we continued our drive to develop good habits in our students.

We promoted the use of kind words in our learning community. This includes saying please, thank you, you'xed re welcome, I'm sorry (where relevant) and using words of appreciation for example, I'm glad we're friends. What kind words do you encourage at home?

We also encouraged students to demonstrate caring actions towards others. Some examples: invite someone to play, take turns, share and help someone in need. Caring also means helping to clean up the classroom and play environment.

Kindness calendar January 2019
Kindness Calendar

We'd like to encourage everyone in our school community to spread a little kindness. Our kindness calendar for January included a thoughtful and fun act to do with your family each day to make a positive difference to your family, community or our world. We hope you enjoyed carrying out ideas such as 'smile at everyone you see all day long', 'start learning a new skill - something you've always wanted to try but haven't' and 'learn something new about someone different from you'.

Event Highlights

Highlights from January included our students learning about road safety, while new parents were invited to a welcome coffee morning and all parents were invited to attend a session on 'Growth Mindset'.
