Ad Astra Society Launches!

Just before half-term, the Ad Astra Society launched with five Year 10 pupils. Amel Amri, Meryl Lim, Misha Shahnaz, Natasha Lim and Sian Park are the inaugural cohort of pupils to join Ad Astra, an extra-curricular club run by Oxbridge Advisor Mr Biggs.

The society will seek to push its members out of their comfort and work on their skills of rhetoric and presentation, skills that will be vital in helping our pupils apply to the top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge. Over the rest of this academic year, the pupils will be working on their Declaration of Passion, a five minute TED-Talk style speech on a subject meaningful to them, which they will then present to parents, teachers and pupils alike.

The pupils will be looking at successful TED Talks to garner inspiration, as well as taking part in seminars working on their presentation and argumentation skills. Good luck to these pupils as they take part in this exciting project - more updates to follow soon!
