BSKL FOBISIA Advanced Music

Over 19-23 September weekend, our Music Department teacher trio (Ms Crytzer, Mr Maccloy, Mr Everett) led our BSKL team of 29 talented students (21 instrumentalists, 8 vocalists from our Senior Orchestra and Senior Choir) to represent BSKL at the Annual FOBISIA Advanced Orchestral and Choral Festival.

This is an annual advanced festival of music talents from schools in Asia.

This year, the Festival was held at BIS School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Our BSKL students joined students from 9 other British International Schools from Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia. Guest conductors Adrian Tan and Gareth Groves worked with the students over 3 days, to practice and perform a wide range of musical repertoire from various composers (Mozart, Verdi, Bernstein, L'Estrange etc). The students worked hard together as a diverse team. The result was an amazing Sunday afternoon where the entire Orchestra and Choir performed their songs spiritedly in the beautiful BIS HCMC auditorium.
