Primary Parent Update - 6 May, 2022

Dear Parents,

Whilst we are of course disappointed not to have our wonderful students back in school with us I can report that all teachers have been very impressed with how well students are working online. From our youngest to our eldest Primary students, attitude towards their virtual school experience (VSE) has been nothing but commendable. As I pop into online lessons, and walk past classrooms where staff continue to teach, I hear student (and teacher) laughter, eager voices answering questions and teachers giving praise and encouragement. The all-important student-teacher relationships, which impact so much on student progress and attainment,  continue to shine through as a strength of school even when teaching and learning is online. A big thank you to all our parents for supporting their child’s VSE, and for appreciating the efforts of our staff.

Virtual School Experience (VSE) Main Contacts

Summer School Uniform, Hats and Water bottles

Students should now be wearing the Summer uniform to school. Please see full details of our summer uniform here.

All students must have a hat in school to wear at break times:

  • we operate a ‘no hat no play’ rule during the summer months
  • students without hats will be asked to sit on the sun safety seat in the playground by staff on duty
  • please ensure that your child’s hat is clearly labelled with their name and class so it can be easily returned if misplaced / forgotten

It is also vitally important that as the weather turns warmer, all students have their own water bottle in school so that they can remain hydrated throughout the day. Water bottles should also be labelled clearly with the student’s name and class.
