Deborah Zand

Deborah Zand

Deborah plans to take a gap year to study Chinese at Peking University before deciding on her future.

Deborah has been studying at BSB for 7 years and graduated in 2019. She described it as a positive experience overall.

What made BSB special? Deborah believes that it was how engaged the teachers were. She said that she has had engaged teachers who truly cared about her success and she is very grateful for that.

Her advice for other students at school is to work hard but also enjoy being a student!

Her favourite memories was her Year 12 residential trip to Tanzania.

Deborah was also selected as one of our Student Ambassadors who represented BSB Shunyi at the NAE UNICEF Student Summit in July 2018.  80 students from Nord Anglia Education (NAE) schools around the world met in New York to attend the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF), participated in a variety of workshops and a Model United Nations. As part of NAE’s work on the Global Goals, students were learning about the goals and thinking about how we can further promote them in our schools.

Deborah was one of four students that were given the role of Report Writers. They wrote a report about the Sustainable Development Goals and NAE students’ opinions on these goals (taken from a worldwide NAE survey), and looked at actions to promote the goals in the future.
