Joining BSB Shunyi in August 2016 marked my fourth international posting, having been a teacher and leader in international education for many years now. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Education in Language and Literacy both from Macquarie University. I have a Diploma of Teaching in Primary Education and a Graduate Diploma in Gifted and Talented Education.
Having qualified as a teacher in Australia, I soon moved to Bangkok to teach at Bangkok Patana school for ten years. I then spent six wonderful years living in Tokyo and working as the Director of Studies at the British School in Tokyo. After ten years as the Head of Primary at Regents International School, Pattaya (a FOBISIA and NAE school), I am now delighted to be living and working in Beijing, China. As a Head of Primary I feel very privileged to be leading a school such as this Primary school where the students are delightful, staff hard-working and committed educationalists and parents supportive and engaged.
My son thoroughly enjoys the challenging and exciting learning offered in the Secondary school here at BSB Shunyi. As a family – with my husband Geoff – we have enjoyed exploring many interesting and beautiful parts of China. We are all originally from Sydney, Australia and as a family we like to be active outdoors and enjoy skiing, hiking, trekking, kayaking, bike-riding etc on our holidays. My husband and I also enjoy wine tasting when possible and have visited many fine wineries in Australia to indulge this hobby. We hope to do the same in France one day!
