University Degree: BA Psychology, PGCE English, CELTA
Armed with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology which I completed at Queensland University of Technology in my home country of Australia and a passion for the English language, I took up my first English teaching role. Over the last 14 years I have taught both EAL and mainstream English to students of all ages in Australia, South Korea, Thailand, the UK and Myanmar. Throughout my professional career I have completed further studies including a PGCE in Secondary English from Queensland University of Technology and a teacher certification programme from Moreland University. I am always eager to learn and improve my teaching knowledge and skills.
Having lived in Asia for many years, China has always fascinated me. The history, culture and traditions have always been of great interest to me so I am excited to finally live in China, and experience all these things first hand. I am familiar with Nord Anglia Education’s group of British schools through the great reputation they have worldwide, and I know that working at BSB will allow me to grow as a teacher while working in this amazing country.
Away from teaching, I particularly enjoy playing music. I have played guitar and bass in bands and it is something I use a stress release. I also enjoy playing sports with water sports, hiking, football, cricket and touch rugby among my favourites. I hope to grow professionally, as well as personally, during my time at BSB and very much look forward to my time here.
