I graduated with a Master of Arts in German Language and Literature from the University of Hamburg and received my degree in DAF (German as a Secondary Language) from University Gießen.
Prior to my career as a teacher, I worked in the Theatre and as a Journalist for Cultural Affairs. As a teacher, I have many years of international experience. Most recently, I established the German Programme at a large international school and was responsible for developing a bespoke Curriculum for German Language adapted for IB Programmes. I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my experience with the students at The British School of Beijing, Shunyi as a teacher of Secondary German and IB Diploma German Language and Literature. I love the atmosphere of teaching in international schools where the students are learning partners and families are valued as equal stakeholders in school life.
I am a family person. I not only value my own small family, but I also consider all the people I work with in life as my extended family. I am curious about news in politics from every region of the world. In addition to an enduring love of literature, I am interested in history and psychology. As an IB practitioner I believe it is important to model the qualities of the learner profile. As such, I am passionate about inquiry into the human condition including the finer things in life such as good food and conversation.
