Moving to Guangzhou with my husband over 10 years ago, I proudly worked at one of the world’s largest English training institution as a Foreign Teacher. My love for teaching allowed me to achieve the teacher of the year award at my centre in the first year of working with the organisation. I left that teaching position after giving birth to my first daughter.
I started working with BSG as an Admissions Officer, a substitute EAL Teacher, and as a Charity Coordinator, before becoming an Early Years Teacher. I spent most of my school life in private schooling just like our students at BSG. Being in such an environment and having such support helped me achieve a top 10 percentile score in the state of Victoria for my final year at school.
Witnessing my students’ grow and develop in a similar environment is a very comforting and rewarding feeling. In my spare time, I enjoy having fun with my family, friends and especially with my two young active daughters. I also use this time to complete my Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education to acquire the latest insight on how to shape and create a positive impact on young minds. Chinese language and culture are also very interesting to us as a family. We try to immerse ourselves as much as we can, and I am proud that my daughters are fluent in Mandarin.
