On Friday 4th November and Saturday 5th November, forty six Year 11 students successfully completed a practice orienteering hike and night camp. This was as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze International Award to help prepare them for the main Qualifying Adventurous Journey expedition that will take place in June.
The students had to find their way along the route in groups of 6 or 7. All this, the students did while carrying 60/70 litre rucksacks and water to last them two days. The students worked well in their teams, showed great enthusiasm and were a credit to themselves and the school. A big thank you to Mr.Zheng, Miss Gugten, Mr Needham and Mrs Bourne who helped supervise the weekend trip. Nick Bourne
