Mathematics is a subject in which you learn arithmetic and statistics. You will also learn about geometry and measurement. Furthermore, you will learn algebra. It is, put in a simple way, learning about how the world works.
This year, I am studying various kinds of maths. At the start of the school year, we learned about numbers. Then in October, we learned about algebra. Going further, we learnt about geometry. When we came back to school from the holidays, we learned about statistics and measurement. Whenever, we finish a unit, we will do a test. This is for the teachers to assess us on our progress.
My teacher is Mr. Kulali. He explains things very well and is open to all questions. He is also very nice and doesn’t give us so much homework.
In maths, you have to face many challenges. If you don’t have a growth mindset, you will not overcome these challenges and progress further. It is very satisfying when you overcome a problem by yourself. At school, we are inspired to challenge ourselves and in maths, we challenge our brains.
Studying maths also links to the school motto: ‘Create Your Future’. In my view mathematics is crucial to the future because everything is based on maths. This subject has many links with computer coding, another crucial subject. If you learn maths, you will know how the world works. You will know how to write codes. You will rule the world with it!
