The STEAM Stay and Learn activity held on 28th March was a great success as students incorporated a simple circuit into a design such as a vehicle or a model insect all made from junk materials. They were to test these models for how well they moved if they set up a circuit with a tiny motor (for vehicles) or they made a circuit with a light (for insect models).
The students were truly creative with the junk and almost immediately had engineered a simple chassis with wheels on which they attached their motor. Some made insects from plastic and odds and ends with a circuit inside their model which lit up!
Well done! Our students really were designers and engineers using a variety of tools to complete their project!
