Between Friday 14th April to Saturday 15th April, sixty five Year 10 students, successfully completed a 2-day orienteering hike and 1 night camp in the Yanqing hills, north-west of Beijing. This was as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze International Award to help prepare them for the main qualifying Adventurous Journey expedition. The route was up and down hills, with strong winds at times. All this, the students did while carrying 60 /70 litre rucksacks and water to last them two days.
The students worked well in their teams, showed great enthusiasm and were a credit to themselves and the school. A big thank you to the BSB staff – Mr John Zhang, Mr Chris Allen, Mrs Valentina Trpkoska and Mr Jovica Trpkoski who helped supervise the two-day expedition.
