To succeed in the world, our students first explore it! Our residential programme is an integral part of our curriculum here. It broadens our students’ horizons and help them form lifelong friendships. We have worked closely with our service providers to ensure that the students will experience a wide range of engaging and educational activities that include elements of cultural immersion, challenge, and community building.

Please see daily updates from Mr. Allen, Head of Year 11
Day 1
We have finally arrived in sunny Guangxi by flight. Temperatures is a bit higher than Beijing. We arrived at the hotel, had a delicious dinner, team building games and goal setting. We’re ready for tomorrow’s first activities!
Day 2
A very active day for Year 11, involving kayaking and via ferrata, both taking place beneath the beautiful scenery on offer here. We are extremely proud of them all for the way they helped each other, especially with some students who might have wanted to give up. A wonderful experience...and it's only Tuesday!
Day 3
Year 11 checked out of their hotel this morning and travelled to the camp site amongst the hills in the valley. They have been taking part in archery tag, abseiling, orienteering and rock climbing. Some of them have shown immense perseverance and bravery. Tonight, they will cook for themselves and earn a good night's rest beneath the stars.
Day 4
This morning Year 11 were awake from 6am, ready to pack up the tents and clean up the camp site. We then took part in fan painting and caving activities. This was an opportunity to explore local culture and learn about the formation of these caves and the landscape. Students explored West Street in the centre of Yangshuo this evening, before the final day tomorrow and head back to the capital.
The British School of Beijing, Shunyi Campus offers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is renowned for its active learning approach. This method is integral to early childhood education, providing young learners with a solid foundation for their future academic and personal development. At BSB Shunyi, active learning means children learn by doing — through a thoughtful blend of teacher-guided activities and independent exploration that develops both their academic skills and their love of learning.
The British School of Beijing recently hosted BritMUN 2025, a Model United Nations (MUN) event that highlights the exceptional organisational and leadership skills of our students. This year's conference was a remarkable success, attracting student delegates from many different schools across Beijing, including the British School of Beijing, the International School of Beijing, Dulwich College Beijing, and Beijing World Youth Academy.
