Congratulations to the U10 Division 2 Boys Football Team as they did both themselves and the school very proud over the weekend coming second and winning 5 out of their 6 matches!

The event was fantastic and the support from the parents was phenomenal all the way through the tournament.

The team played their hearts out match after match and showed passion and fight all the way through. Every game became more difficult during the knockout stages and as the Lions roared their way to the quarterfinals winning game 3-1 as the touch of silverware became more and more real.

Semi-final time! The team met a strong defensive side in UWC Dover during the semi-finals and couldn’t find a way to break through their back two. The Lions had some great opportunities but couldn’t capitalise on these. Time was ticking and boys just couldn’t seem to score. Penalties!!

A tense and nerve-wracking semi-final but the boys held their nerves and with two wonderful saves from Billy Hodgson the boys were through to the Finals! (Gold so close)

The team met their bogie team in the Finals, NEXUS, a physical and skilful team who had very little weaknesses in all their positions. Nexus started fast and scored an early goal. The Lions started to fight back but the team became fatigued with the intense afternoon heat belting down on the pitch. Three minutes to go and Nexus scored another. Final score 2-0.

Silver Medalists!! Mr Johnson is so proud of all of them. They were brilliant and thank you to all the Mums and dads for your support.
